Coordinated System of Care

Coordinated System of Care

Louisiana's child and family-serving agencies have developed the Coordinated System of Care to offer a new approach to providing services to children who have significant behavioral health challenges. The Louisiana Department of Education is working with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals and the Office of Juvenile Justice to improve the delivery of services and how they are funded.  The targeted population of the project are some of the most at-risk children and families in our state.

The Coordinated System of Care has three specific goals:

  • Reducing out-of-home placements of youth with significant behavioral health challenges
  • More effectively using state resources and federal funding for services supporting at-risk youth
  • Improving outcomes for at-risk youth.
