Title V, Part A Innovative Education Program

Title V of NCLB replaces Title VI under ESEA. The new Title V program provides financial assistance to implement innovative educational programs that are aligned with school reform efforts. These funds are used to focus on changing the way we deliver education by encouraging comprehensive systematic school reform, upgrading instructional and professional development to align with State challenging content standards, strengthening accountability, and promoting the coordination of all resources to improve education for ALL children.

Title V continues to be one of the most flexible of all the entitlement programs. Title V incorporates more than 25 funding options, including, but not limited to, school choice, magnet/charter schools, school-based mental and physical health programs, parental/community involvements, professional development, gifted/talented students, drop-out prevention and technology related to school-based reform such as computer software and hardware.
