LEA and School-Level: Public Student Counts and Percentages
These documents are prepared from student information submitted as of October (Fall report) and as of *February (Winter report) each year by the parish/city public school districts and other public local educational agencies (LEAs) in the Student Information System (SIS) report. Data in four membership groupings (total reported students, elementary/secondary students, students in grades K-12, and funded memberships) are presented at both the agency (LEA) and school level. Included are counts and percentages for: total membership, gender, race/ethnicity, free or reduced lunch, English proficiency, at-risk, grade placement, over age 21, and at-risk by grade placement. Additional data are the applicable service region and site category codes. Subtotals are provided for: the city/parish school districts (by service region and total), the independently-reported university laboratory schools, the BESE-chartered Type 2 charter schools, Recovery School District (i.e., total of RSD-LDE and Type 5 charter providers), BESE/special schools, and the Office of Juvenile Justice schools. Immediately below are formats of the presented data, tips for importing the data, and definitions of memberships, school categories, and locale codes. For questions or additional information, see the contact identified at the bottom of this page. *Note: Winter data collection added effective February 2007.

Student Data as of 2005-2006:
The following are various "snapshots" of reported student populations from the monthly student data collections that have taken place since the Hurricanes Katrina (Aug 29, 2005) and Rita (Sep 24, 2005). The primary purpose of monthly collections is to track displacement of students throughout the state, and the recovery of both schools and student populations within the storm-affected areas.
