Executive Office of the Superintendent
Mission Statement
The mission of the Executive Office of the Superintendent is to recommend and implement public education policy in accordance with the Louisiana Constitution, legislation, and regulations of the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The State Superintendent, through the Executive Office, will direct the Department of Education to provide Louisiana educators and its citizens with the information, leadership, technical assistance and oversight necessary to achieve a quality education system.
The Executive Office will provide professional leadership and management services through the following strategies:
- The Executive Office will provide leadership for MFP administration, overall support services for the DOE, and coordination of legislative affairs and public information activities.
- Executive Management Controls will provide departmental legal and personnel services.
- Regional Service Centers will provide services that assist in the implementation of educational initiatives designed to improve student achievement.
- The Division of Leadership and Technology will promote the development of an educational technology infrastructure in Louisiana schools, which will include technology that enhances effectiveness and achievement.
