How to Register for LEADTech?

 

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS 

What are the Requirements of participants in a LEADTech Cohort?  

·         Complete the Technology Proficiency Self   Assessment Instruments for both administrators and all teachers before the opening session.

·         Pay for all personal travel expenses and meals

·          Full-time attendance at a two-day opening session.  (Day One of the opening session  begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m.; Day Two of the opening session begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m.)

·         Participation in an eight-week online course “Leading with Technology” and completion of all course assignments.

·         Complete two hands-on technology workshops (typically three-hour sessions) at a regional Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center or at a district technology training center between the opening session and the closing session.

·         Develop an electronic  professional portfolio documenting work completed through LEADTech between the opening session and the closing session. The portfolio will be presented at the closing session.

·         Register for and attend the one day closing session  (approximately 6-12 months after the orientation seminar)

 

How to register for a LEADTech Cohort?       

 

Coursewhere is a Louisiana Department of Education online registration website available to help you register for LEADTech.  If this is your first time to this site, you will need to create an ID and Password to register.  If you registered before for any other state activity offered through Coursewhere on this site you already have a user name and password. 

 

REGISTRATION DIRECTIONS: 

 

1. Go to the LDE website:
   http://www.louisianaschools.net
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.  Click on Quality Educators in the lower Right Hand corner.
3. Click on the CourseWhere Icon (black circle with a house) in the lower left hand corner.  If gray message box appears, click OK.
4. Click on View by Category (second black circle icon at the top).  If gray message box appears, click Yes.
5. In the category selection box scroll down to Instructional Technology.  Click on it to highlight it and click Go.
6. Click on LEADTech.
7. Click on the start date of the session you wish to attend; you should only register for one session.
8. Click register; click OK.
   
   
9. LOGIN NAME à If you have registered for other professional development opportunitities using CourseWhere, you already have a user ID and password.  If it is your first time registering via CourseWhere, you will have to first create a user account.  Choose the direction set below that applies to your situation.

 

a.       If you know your Coursewhere user name and password: 

(1)    Enter your User ID and Password in the appropriate spaces.

(2)    Click the gray button labeled “Register for Course.”

(3)    Click the gray button labeled “Submit Registration.”

(4)    You will shortly receive an email confirming your registration.

 

b.       If you forgot your Coursewhere ID or Password: 

(1)    Look under Forget your ID or password? and click on the gray button labeled “Email My ID.” 

(2)    Enter your email address and click on the gray button labeled “Email My ID.” 

(3)    Check your email because you will shortly receive an email containing your user name and password.

(4)    Follow the directions in 7 to register.

 

c.       If you are new to the site:

(1)    If you are a first time registrant, click Create Account in the New to This Site area. 

(2)    Your user ID will be your last four digits of your Social Security number and the last four digits on your home phone number.

(3)    You may choose any password up to 10 characters in length for security. You must remember this password or write it down somewhere.

(4)    Complete the user account creation form by filling in your information into the fields.

(5)    Click the gray button labeled “Submit ID/Password.”  A green registration form will appear.

(6)    Delete the asterisks in the first two sections of the Social Security Number and complete your Social Security Number.  Fill in your work phone number, home phone number, email address, parish, and position.(for position choose only Principal, Assistant Principal, Central Office Supervisor, or Superintendent)  Click the gray button labeled “Submit Registration.”

(7)    You will shortly receive an email confirming your registration.
