Leadership
LEADTech
LEADTech is a technology leadership initiative that prepares school and district administrators including superintendents with an in-depth understanding of the role of instructional technology as it relates to total school improvement and increased student learning.
LEADTech provides an opportunity for all Louisiana administrators, from public and private schools, to experience and capitalize on the power of technology to support and improve teaching, learning, and leadership in Louisiana schools.
A goal of the program is to prepare administrators who can provide leadership and support of school improvement efforts. Many models of school reform focus on improving student learning through enriched curriculum and instruction and on developing school cultures that support collaboration, professional development, and communication. New technologies can provide an infrastructure that supports reform efforts and serves as a resource to be utilized by educators. This project provides a framework for learning experiences where participants will create and use technology in ways that are congruent with the most recent developments and advances in instructional pedagogy and models of leadership.
We welcome you to explore the materials available on this site. We invite you to contact project staff to learn more about the project. We encourage you as an instructional leader to become a LEADTech participant … and build a better school for your students and teachers with and through technology.

The major components of the program are Louisiana Teacher Assistance and Assessment Program Training, eight hours of school improvement related training, eight hours of professional development in technology, training in the use of Blackboard for the online course facilitated by experienced district/principal/assistant principal mentors, regional/state meetings, team meetings with experienced principal/assistant principal mentors, school visits, and the development of a professional portfolio.
