Literacy and Numeracy
Superintendent Paul Pastorek’s vision is to create a world-class education system for all students in Louisiana and this can only be done by having ALL students reading, writing and doing mathematics at or above grade level by the fourth grade. The Ensuring Literacy and Numeracy for All Initiative is designed to accomplish this vision. The initiative has begun development of a framework for Adolescent Literacy. The focus will be on the Comprehensive Curriculum, the GLEs, professional development, and a three-tiered intervention model.
