Parental Involvement - Title 1, Part A: Program Description
Title I Parental and Family Involvement assists local education agencies (LEAs) in understanding and implementing parental involvement requirements at the district levels. It provides training to district and school staff in the development of family involvement activities that are linked to identified academic achievement goals. The program identifies and promotes current research and models in the area of family involvement. The Title I Family Involvement coordinator provides resource information and partners with community-based organizations to assist families in their role as parents as well as in promoting effective two-way communication with educational institutions.

The U.S. Department of Education announced a new interactive Declaration of Rights Web site to inform parents of English Language Learners about No Child Left Behind legislation and their rights under this historic law. All information is currently available in English and Spanish.
