Louisiana Annual State Plan for Funds under IDEA
PUBLIC NOTICE
The General Education Provisions Act (GEPA) requires the State to publish each proposed state plan for funds under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) for 60 days and to accept comments for at least 30 days. The Louisiana Department of Education’s state plan for fiscal year 2008-09 is published from February 22, 2008, through May 1, 2008. The plan includes a checklist of assurances that Louisiana has policies and procedures in effect to comply with the requirements of the amendments to IDEA in December 2004. Where Louisiana is not in compliance with the IDEA amendments of 2004, a date is given by which Louisiana assures that policies and procedures will be in effect. The plan for expenditure of state-level IDEA funds by category is also a component of the state plan.
A copy of the plan may be reviewed by visiting the Department of Education’s web site at www.louisianaschools.net. A copy of the plan may also be reviewed at the Louisiana Department of Education, 1201 North Third Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70804 in Room 4-184.
