Extended School Year
Extended School Year Services (ESYS) is the provision of special education and related services to students with disabilities, in accordance with an IEP, beyond the normal school year of the LEA and at no cost to the parents of the student.
Below you will find links to optional forms, letters, and other training tools that will help teachers with documenting ESY eligibility decisions. Since an annual screening date is no longer specified by state regulations, the districts must create policies and procedures which include timelines to ensure all students with disabilities are considered for ESYS on an annual basis.
