Deadline nears for education providers to apply
Baton Rouge, La. – Department of Education officials are reminding education providers that the application deadline to be a partner in the 2009-2010 Student Scholarships for Educational Excellence Program is Wednesday, January 28. Any school wanting to participate by providing seats for scholarship recipients must submit an application to the Department no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The original program notification and application were sent to all potentially eligible nonpublic schools in the state on January 13.
Applications may be submitted to the Department via standard mail, email, fax or hand delivery.
Act 509 of the 2008 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature established the scholarship program, which provides state-funded scholarships for kindergarten through fourth-grade students who attend low-performing public schools in Orleans Parish during the 2008-2009 school year.
