8(g) Workshops and Events
Access flyers, registration forms, and information for workshops/meetings hosted by the 8(g) Office.
In January, the BESE–8(g) Office hosted workshops to assist with writing 2008-2009 competitive grant proposals. At the workshops, the staff discussed the submission procedures, the focus areas, the project components, and the scoring rubric. To better serve all regions of the state, the same workshop was held in North, Central, South and Southeast Louisiana. The following link will give you access to the workshop presentation.

In September 2007, the BESE - 8(g) Office hosted fall workshops to help project administrators manage their 2007-2008 Block and Competitive Grants. Any agency which is not a public education agency that may be interested in requesting 8(g) funds from BESE must complete a Pervasively Sectarian Status Questionnaire to determine its sectarian status and certify under oath that its responses are true and correct.
