NBC for Teachers - Recruitment
Recruitment
We are glad to hear that you are interested in participating in the National Board Certification (NBC) process.
Each year, the Louisiana Department of Education awards a $2000 subsidy to eligible candidates to assist them in their NBC efforts. Those who receive the subsidy are chosen through a selection process in which applications and applicant essays are ranked. If selected, candidates receive a $2000 subsidy and candidate support through mentoring and monthly support meetings.
Currently, the Department schedules Recruitment meetings for the NBC process in the spring of each year. To be eligible for the subsidy and to begin the subsidy application process, interested individuals MUST attend one of these recruitment meetings. The meetings are held from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM. One needs to attend only one of the recruitment meetings.
Information about the 2008-2009 meetings was sent to every school principal and every district Superintendent.
If you are interested in participating in the 2008-09 NBC recruitment process and in applying for the state subsidy, please register on Courewhere at www.solutionwhere.com/ldoe/cw/main.asp and attend a Recruitment meeting most convenient to you.
Should you have additional questions about the state subsidy for National Board Certification, you may reach the NBC personnel at the contact information below.
