Media Advisory (9.4.2008) - On Friday, September 5, Superintendent Paul Pastorek, Board of Elementary and Secondary Education President Linda Johnson and other education and government officials will be visiting with school district leaders across the state in areas suffering the greatest impact from Hurricane Gustav.

Press Release (9.4.2008) - Three days after Hurricane Gustav made landfall on Louisiana’s gulf coast, education officials are aggressively working with local school districts to support their attempts to resume operations.

Press Release (9.3.2008) - Today the Louisiana Department of Education issued a report on the status of school districts across the state. (PLEASE NOTE: The report is subject to change. The local school district may make adjustments.) In summary, those school districts located in parishes hit hardest by Hurricane Gustav, primarily in the south central, southeast and central part of the state are indicating they will not be prepared to resume school before Monday.
