Division of Appropriation Control
Overview

The Division of Appropriation Control is responsible for all accounting policies and processes, internal controls, financial functions, cost control, cost saving strategies, procurement, contracting, building operational support, and asset management for the Department appropriated agencies. Additionally, the Division provides accounting services for contracted agencies.

Primary Functions
  • The management of all financial accounts, including oversight of all funds and grants activity, accounts receivable, cash management, accounts payable and payment processes.
  • Procurement and obligation of department funds through purchasing and contract activities.
  • External/internal financial reporting to federal, state, and private granting agencies, the state legislature, the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the Department executive staff.
  • Department operational support, including building operations, security, safety, mailroom, stockroom, warehouse, central receiving, property control, and emergency response activities.
  • Unit Responsibilities
